Portable Hammocks
A portable hammock may be just what you
need.
You look forward to the good weather when you can enjoy your
own outdoor space, kicking back in your favorite lounger,
garden chair – or hammock, if you’re lucky enough have enough
room for one. The good weather will come to an end, though.
When it does, you have to think of finding a place to store
that outdoor furniture. You want to protect it from the
elements in harsh weather, but it can be hard to find the space
to store loungers and chairs indoors. A traditional hammock
needs a suitable location, like two hefty trees at the right
distance apart.
Once installed, it might take up more of your outdoor space
than is really practical. You can opt for a hanging hammock,
fixed to a roof beam of your veranda, but you would have to
make sure that the roof can take the weight.
You also need to hang it in such a way that you have some
room to swing. This kind of hammock is more like a chair, so if
lying back with your feet up is what you have in mind, this is
not the one for you.
Especially if your outdoor domain is a veranda, a portable
hammock may be just what you need. You can put almost anywhere,
set it up in minutes as soon as it gets warm enough, and easily
put it away in a cupboard when it gets chilly.
When you have some time to stretch out, you can relax in
your hammock — and still put it away in time to have people
over for a barbeque if you need the space. Portable hammocks
are suspended on easy-to-assemble tubular frames.
Just follow the simple instructions and you can be relaxing
in your hammock in no time. The frame is light, so it’s easy to
move it around to get just the right amount of sun.
Since most portable hammocks come with a carrier bag, you
can even pack up your hammock and take it with you to the
beach. Permanent hammocks are made to be left outside, but sun,
wind, and rain do wear them out in time and they will have to
be replaced.
That’s another reason why a portable hammock is such a great
idea. You can disassemble it and bring it inside when you can’t
be outdoors or when it looks like rain. It’s hard to think of
any downside to having a portable hammock — unless it's that
they are so comfortable that you’ll have trouble getting it to
yourself! Here’s a tip: If you can fit two on your veranda, get
one for your partner as well.
